Chairman SEC Board - Chief Executive Officer
In July, 2015, Syed Kaukab Mohyuddin, was selected as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), State engineering corporation (SEC) by the Federal Government, through transparent procedure, to lead SEC Group of Companies operating under Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan. SEC Group is an important pillar of M/o Industries & Production, and its subsidiaries are Heavy Electrical Complex (HEC), Hattar, Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF), Karachi, ENAR Petro-tech Services Limited, Karachi, and associated company Pakistan Engineering Company (PECO), Lahore .These units are producing capital machinery items, including special products for Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces.
Mr. Kaukab, a Chemical Engineer with Master in Business Administration degree holder, possesses more than 40 years field experience in engineering and general management. Besides attending a number of professional courses within country and abroad he is also member of Pakistan Engineering Council, American Society of Explosives Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Marketing Association, Pakistan Institute of Chemical Engineers and Safex International, Geneva.
Career Profile of Mr. Kaukab depicts his leadership qualities for heading a number of positions in national and multinational, private and public sector enterprises. Currently, besides serving on Boards of SEC and SEC Group of Companies, Mr. Kaukab, as a member, is contributing significantly in many other Boards, operating under Ministry of Industries & Production.
In a short span of one year, Syed Kaukab Mohyuddin, turn-around SEC public sector loss making industrial units into profitable entities without any financial burden on government exchequer. Mr. Kaukab’s effective leadership qualities and implementation of short-term and long term plans, enabled these companies to play due role in social and economic development of the country and present results are encouraging.
Major Gen Zaheer Ahmed Khan,HI (M) (Retd)
Maj. Gen (R) Zaheer Ahmed Khan HI (M) is a graduate Engineer. He did his Masters in Engineering from U.S.A. Besides Bachelor (Hons) in “War studies” and Master in “Defence strategic Studies”. He was awarded honours Society ‘Tau Beta Pai’ membership after M.Sc (Engineering) from U.S.A. because of excellent M.Sc result.
Having passed at the top of his course from Pakistan Military Academy, he started his career from a defence products production organization and rose in rank / grade after going through a variety of qualifying courses and varying postings. He thus developed a repertoire of experience & skills which honed ability to effectively manage engineering (Production) organizations at highest level. During working with the “Research & Development” he developed sound technical potential of local industrial potential which he effectively utilized to “indigenously develop” defence equipment. As Project Director of two Defence Production set-ups where he developed first Prototype of Al-Zarar Tank and also indigenized tank and Armored Personnel carrier (APC) parts / systems. In recognition of achievements in defence sector, he was presented ‘Imtiazi Sanad’.
After his retirement from army services, he was appointed as Chairman State Engineering Corporations (SEC) for two years (2007-2009), where he achieved commendable production performance results besides developing many new hi-tech products in SEC units at Pakistan Machine Tool Factory, Heavy Electrical Complex and Pakistan Engineering Company (PECO). Recognizing his accomplishments in managing engineering organizations, government nominated him on SEC board as Director to play a role in promoting public sector engineering organizations.
Mr. M. Imtiaz-ur-Raheem
M.Imtiaz-ur-Raheem is a member of SEC Board of Directors. He possesses versatile experiences of working in various public sector organizations in different capacities. He has attended many courses such as Money Management, Management Accounts and Challenges, Effective Communication Skills, Computer for Office Personnel, WTO Regime Challenges, Management Accounts role in Marketing Economy and many other management courses.
Mr. Imtiaz, prior to his appointment as Director on SEC Board, has served Pakistan Engineering Company (PECO), Lahore, first as a General Manager (Finance) &Company Secretary and later-on as a Managing Director, PECO. Mr. Imtiaz is a qualified Accountant and became Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (I.C.M.A) in the year 1972 and secured top position in two subjects. He also obtained Diploma in Accounts in the year 1984. In the year 2000, ICMA conferred Golden Jubilee Award on Mr. Imtiaz.
Mr. Imtiaz played a pivotal role for PECO to obtain ISO Certification. Considering his exemplary services as Chief Executive Officer, PECO, Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry also acknowledge his contributions and declared Mr. Imtiaz “Businessman of the year 2007”.
Mr. Muhammad Saleem Rajput
Mr. Muhammad Saleem Rajput graduated as a Mechanical Engineer in year 1973 from Sind University Engineering College Jamshoro presently known as Mehran University of Engineering & Technology. He started his service from Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF) in year 1974 where he worked in different departments and grades.The company made him Head of Manufacturing Division in the year 1999 for looking after the production activities of all the manufacturing departments. He was upgraded as General Manager Engineering Division in year 2004 and subsequently became Managing Director in November 2009 where worked till retirement on superannuation in February 2011.His salient professional contribution in PMTF include; Development of various defence products, Productivity enhancement by devising and implementing a incentive scheme, Development of special forging and casting, indigenous development of CNC Lathe machine and Quarrying machinery.
Mr. Saleem attended 08 months training in the field of advanced Welding Technology in Japan sponsored by JICA. He also attended local and foreign short term and long term management and professional courses organized by Pakistan Institute of Management.Considering his versatile experience, exemplary performance and excellent service record, he was nominated as Director on State Engineering Corporation Board.
