Payment Process

According to sources, the payments will be calculated based on the number of exported units. However, the process will involve verification and cross-checking before final approval.

  • Consumers will need to visit their respective LESCO offices to claim the additional payment.

  • Divisional and revenue officers will inspect net metering connections and prepare cases using a test check proforma.

  • Once verified, the cases will be forwarded to the finance department for final approval.

  • Consumers will then be issued cross checks equal to the value of the exported units.

Adjustment from Electricity Bills

LESCO officials clarified that these payments will be separate from regular electricity bills and will not be adjusted in the monthly billing process.

This step is being seen as a big encouragement for solar users, offering financial returns for their contribution to the grid and promoting renewable energy adoption in the region.
