Islamabad (City Desk): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its efforts to address the growing number of stray dogs in the federal capital. Acting on the directives of Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, joint teams from CDA and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) are carrying out large-scale operations across the city.

📞 How to Report Stray Dogs

Residents can now easily file complaints through multiple channels:

  • Helpline 1334 (available 24/7 for both urban and rural areas)

  • Deputy Commissioner Office Portal (online complaint system)

🐕 Stray Dog Centre Operations

A dedicated Stray Dog Centre in Tramri has been upgraded with improved facilities. Captured dogs are:

  • Trapped safely

  • Neutered

  • Vaccinated

  • Relocated under the Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release (TNR) method

This ensures humane population control and prevents cruelty.

📊 Citywide Impact

Between July and September 2025, CDA teams removed over 550 stray dogs from:

  • Residential sectors G-14, D-12, F-6, F-7, I-9, I-10, G-10, F-11

  • Rural and sensitive areas including Saidpur, Margalla Town, Bara Kahu, and the Red Zone

Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the initiative is designed to create a safer environment for citizens while ensuring the welfare of the animals through humane relocation.
