The Excise and Taxation Department in Islamabad has issued a stern warning: vehicle owners who fail to clear their motor vehicle tax dues by October 10, 2025, will have their registrations permanently cancelled.
Red Notices Already Issued
According to officials, red notices have been served to owners with pending payments as of June 30, 2025. Their registrations have already been suspended, and cancellation will follow if dues are not settled before the deadline.
Restoration will only be possible after full payment of outstanding taxes along with heavy fines. To facilitate taxpayers, the department has set up special counters for dues clearance.
Legal Basis
The crackdown is being carried out under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965. Authorities have made it clear that no concession or extension will be granted after October 10.
