Pakistan Railways has officially revised fares for trains operating between Lahore and Rawalpindi, with the new rates taking effect immediately.
Fare Revision Details
According to a spokesperson for Pakistan Railways, the fare hike applies to the Subak Kharam and Subak Raftar railcars. The new fares have been increased by Rs. 150 to Rs. 250, depending on the class.
However, officials clarified that passengers will now be provided refreshments during the journey as part of the revised fare package.

Background
The increase comes amid rising operational costs, including fuel prices and maintenance expenses. Pakistan Railways says the adjustment is necessary to maintain service quality and passenger comfort.
Despite the fare hike, passengers welcomed the move to include onboard refreshments, calling it a “small but positive change.”
