On the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the CM Free Wi-Fi Service has been significantly expanded across the province, connecting citizens to free and secure internet access in public places.
Free Wi-Fi in Lahore and Other Districts
According to the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), the service now covers 442 locations in Lahore alone, where more than 58 million users have consumed nearly 1191 terabytes of data.
In addition to Lahore, free Wi-Fi is available in 23 districts of Punjab, with 952 active hotspots at important public sites such as markets, bus stands, hospitals, and government offices.
Expansion to Women’s Colleges
The government has also confirmed that 450 women’s government colleges will now have free Wi-Fi service.

Technology Upgrade – Wi-Fi 6
To meet rising demand, the network has been upgraded with Wi-Fi 6 technology, offering:

The number of hotspots in Lahore alone has grown from 230 to over 430 within a few months, showing rapid expansion.
Usage Policy
Officials have clarified that the free Wi-Fi service is mainly for education, communication, and essential services.
It is not intended for streaming or entertainment purposes, and the system includes content filtering and usage management tools to ensure responsible use.
