Lahore (Staff Report): Punjab traffic police have intensified their crackdown on one-way traffic violations, issuing 29,704 challans in October — almost double the 15,000 fines issued last month.
Lahore Tops the List
According to Lahore Traffic Police, the provincial capital alone accounted for over 10,000 challans. Each violation carries a fine of Rs. 2,000, making it one of the strictest enforcement campaigns in recent months.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, has directed all Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) to ensure continuous field monitoring and take strict measures against violators.
He warned that one-way violations are a major cause of road accidents, and the police will maintain zero tolerance toward offenders.
Public Advisory
Officials have urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules, noting that compliance not only ensures personal safety but also prevents hefty fines and legal consequences.
